HyLife, a prominent Manitoba business, has stepped up to support STARS operations in the province with a $125,000 contribution. The announcement was made during a recent reception at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach.

By supporting STARS, we can embody the sentiment in our mission and support our core values such as safety, teamwork, and respect, which align with STARS’ core values. HyLife has a commitment to take care of the communities in which we live and work, and having STARS as a community partner allows us to extend our support exponentially. HyLife is proud to be a partner in safety with STARS.”
As recognition of HyLife’s support, the company’s logo has been placed on STARS’ Manitoba Mobile Education Unit.
The Mobile Education Unit provides specialized critical care skill training to STARS crews and other emergency care providers throughout Manitoba. The first mobile program of its kind in North America, it features a human patient simulator which replicates complex medical and traumatic problems over and over again. It offers medical personnel the opportunity to test and practice their reactions and skills, leading to a high degree of familiarity and confidence.
Through this donor-funded program STARS provided training to almost 500 medical professionals throughout the province in the 18-19 fiscal year.

We are thankful to them for this show of support and recognition of the life-saving service STARS provides to Manitobans. STARS flew 632 missions in the province during the 2018-19 fiscal year. Many of them occurred in areas in which HyLife employees work and live. This contribution will help to ensure that the next time someone is in need of world-class critical care and rapid transport to hospital, STARS will be there.”
