At approximately 11:21am on October 23, 2019, Steinbach RCMP responded to a two motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 12 and the exit of the Walmart Store in Steinbach.
Police say that a 21-year-old woman from Airdrie, Alberta, driving an Acura, was proceeding east on the exit route and making a left-hand turn north onto Highway 12. At this time, she was struck by a pickup truck traveling south on Highway 12. The truck was driven by a 63-year-old Giroux area man.
RCMP report that the female driver suffered serious injuries that were considered non life threatening and was transported to Winnipeg hospital via STARS. The male driver suffered minor injuries and did not require further medical treatment.
Police noted that alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
Investigation continues with the assistance of the Traffic Deconstructionist. RCMP say that charges are being contemplated.
