Two men from Selkirk are facing numerous charges, including assault and robbery, after being arrested by Selkirk RCMP.
On October 28, 2019, at approximately 10:40am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a violent assault in a parking lot located on Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk.
RCMP received several 911 calls advising that a truck had stopped in the parking lot at which point two male suspects exited, grabbed a third male from inside the truck, and were violently assaulting him. Police say that the two suspects then left the male victim on the ground and fled in the truck. Witnesses at the scene told officers that the truck had a blown rear tire and it was driving on the rim.
Officers located the vehicle a few blocks from the scene and were able to arrest the two male suspects while they were in the process of changing the tire.
RCMP report that 22-year-old Nolan Walker and 20-year-old Tyson Parker, both from Selkirk, were arrested and charged with several offences including assault causing bodily harm and robbery.
Police noted that the victim, an 18-year-old male from Selkirk, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation has determined that all three individuals were known to one another.
