A two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 this past week left a Landmark man uninjured and a Winnipeg man with serious injuries.
On November 8, 2016, just before 6:30am, Headingley RCMP Traffic Services and Oakbank RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 101, just east of Wenzel Street.
Police say that a westbound car was traveling at highway speeds when an eastbound car crossed the median and collided with the westbound vehicle. The 26-year-old male driver of the eastbound car, from Winnipeg, was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The 42-year-old male driver of the westbound car, from Landmark, Manitoba, was not treated for any injuries. Both were the lone occupants of the vehicles.
RCMP report that alcohol is not considered to be a factor in this collision. Police also noted that the westbound driver was wearing a seatbelt, while the eastbound driver was not.
An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
