Week two of the 2019 RCMP Holiday Checkstop Program, from from December 9-15, 2019, has resulted in over 2500 vehicles being checked across Manitoba during 121 checkstops.
Results from both Checkstops and regular patrol include:
- 15 people charged with a Criminal Code Impaired Driving offence (12 alcohol, 2 drug, 1 refusal)
- The highest blood/alcohol reading reported was 0.280
- 5 alcohol or drug-related tiered administrative roadside suspensions
- 184 traffic related provincial statue (Highway Traffic Act) charges laid and 14 written warnings issued
Last year during week two, RCMP members conducted 70 checkstops, checked approximately 3530 vehicles, and charged 23 people with Criminal Code impaired driving offences.
