Week three of the RCMP Holiday Checkstop Program, from December 16-22, 2019, has resulted in over 3480 vehicles being checked across Manitoba during 97 checkstops.
Results from both checkstops and regular patrol include:
- 18 people charged with a Criminal Code Impaired Driving offence (16 alcohol, 2 refusal)
- The highest blood/alcohol reading reported was 0.280
- Four alcohol or drug-related tiered administrative roadside suspensions
Last year during week three, RCMP members conducted 68 checkstops, checked approximately 4000 vehicles, and charged 23 people with Criminal Code impaired driving offences.
