The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) has concluded its investigation into an injury to a 33-year-old male during his arrest by a member of the Portage la Prairie RCMP last July.
The civilian director of the IIU has determined there are reasonable grounds to believe an offence occurred under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
As a result of the investigation, one officer has been issued a Provincial Offence Act ticket for driving carelessly contrary to s.188(2) of the HTA.
The IIU announced on September 16, 2019, advising that it had launched an investigation into the incident.
