Oakbank RCMP are asking the public for any information that may help identify a suspect involved in a recent hit and run that occurred near Deacon’s corner.
On June 5, 2020, at approximately 12:50am, Oakbank RCMP responded to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian. The incident occurred at a location on Highway 1, just west of Deacon’s corner.
Police investigation determined that a 25-year-old woman was driving east on Highway 1, just west of Deacon’s Corner, when she had a medical emergency and stopped in the middle of the highway. The woman then exited her vehicle, collapsed on the highway, and was struck by a brown minivan. The vehicle continued to drive a short distance, at which point it pulled over for several moments. The minivan then left the scene heading north on Highway 207.
RCMP report that the female victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
