On December 17, 2020, 27-year-old Cst. Sasha Manj of the Stonewall RCMP detachment, was charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm in connection to an incident that occurred in February of this year.
Police say that on February 20, 2020, at approximately 4:30 pm, the female officer was responding to an emergency call for service in the Stonewall area.
Investigation determined that Cst. Manj was driving a fully marked police vehicle with lights and sirens activated when she entered the intersection at Racetrack Road and Highway 1, ultimately ending up in a collision with two other vehicles. The occupants of the other vehicles, along with Cst. Manj, received minor injuries and all were treated and released at the scene.
The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba was contacted and took a monitoring role over the investigation, which was conducted by RCMP Central Traffic Services. RCMP provided the investigation to Manitoba Prosecution Services for review and opinion on charges.
RCMP report that Cst. Manj has just over one year of service and remains on active duty at this time.
