Steinbach RCMP are currently investigating a theft incident that occurred at a gravel pit in the Rural Municipality of Tache. Police also say that mischief was done to the property at the time of the incident.

The City of Steinbach is informing the public that from Monday, January 24 to Wednesday, January 26, 2022, soil condition testing will be taking place between 9am and 3pm at the intersection of Loewen Boulevard and PTH 12N in Steinbach.

A special weather statement has been issued for Steinbach and southern Manitoba stating that heavy snow and strong winds can be expected in the coming days as an Alberta clipper moves across the Prairies Monday night. Cold weather is expected starting Wednesday.

Steinbach RCMP are currently investigating the recent theft of a 2017 Hyundai Elantra which occurred during the morning hours of January 13, 2022.

The City of Steinbach has announced that starting in February, 2022, Serving Seniors Inc. will assume the city’s Handi-Transit operations, part of a new recently signed service agreement.

A 19-year-old stranded fisherman from Steinbach, along with two others, were recently rescued by RCMP  after their truck had gotten stuck on Clearwater Lake.

The province has announced that it will delay the return to school for students following the winter break to Jan. 10, 2022. The delay will give public health officials additional time to assess the risk of the omicron variant in Manitoba and what changes might be needed on the return to school in early January.

Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler announced that the Manitoba government is working in collaboration with the Town of Niverville to cost-share $1.9 million in improvements to the intersection of Provincial Road (PR) 311 and Mulberry Avenue.
