A 20-year-old Steinbach man has been arrested and charged in connection to a recent investigation led by the Manitoba RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE).

Manitoba RCMP Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit are reporting that David Thomas Pearson of Winnipeg, was recently sentenced to 14 years in prison, after pleading guilty to seven charges, including five counts of child luring, possessing child pornography and failing to comply with a prohibition order.

A 49-year-old Steinbach man is facing numerous child pornography related charges after being arrested in connection to an RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit investigation.

A new online safety campaign launched by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and supported with provincial funding is urging families to talk with their tweens and teens about the risks of online activities such as live streaming, online gaming and live chatting.

Two RCMP Internet Child Exploitation Unit investigations, dating back to early 2017, have led to the arrest of a Churchill and Flin Flon man.
