This holiday season the Consumer Protection Office of Manitoba Justice would like to remind Manitobans that, under the Consumer Protection Act, consumers have the right to warranty coverage on the goods and services they buy.

The Manitoba Consumer Protection Office has received an increase in the number of complaints recently about door-to-door sales and urges Manitobans to be cautious when approached by door-to-door sellers of water filtration systems.

The province has announced that new legislation offering consumers protection from high-cost credit products is now in effect.
