The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 2.6 per cent provincially and 1.8 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on August 12, 2021, 101 new cases of the virus have been identified since Tuesday: 31 cases on Tuesday, Aug.10, 36 cases Wednesday, Aug. 11 and 34 today. Ten cases have been removed due to data corrections, bringing the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 57,951.

The Manitoba government has released its return plan for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students to classrooms on September 7. Schools are expected to open with near normal operations.

The province will implement new public health orders and guidance on Aug. 7, one month earlier than forecast. The announcement was made while vaccine uptake in southern Manitoba continues to be at dangerously low levels.

A total of 59 warnings and 10 tickets were issued for the week of July 19 to 25 including five $1,296 tickets to individuals, three $298 tickets to individuals for failure to wear a mask in an indoor public place, one $5,000 ticket to a business and one $8,550 ticket under the Federal Quarantine Act.
