The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 4.4 per cent provincially and FOUR per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30am on April 3, 2021, 181 new cases of the virus have been identified. These include cases from the holiday Friday and Saturday. However, three cases have been removed due to a data correction. This brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 34,352.

The Government of Canada has put in place emergency border measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and its variants into Canada. The Public Health Agency of Canada and the Canada Border Services Agency are reminding travellers and returning Canadian residents about what to expect at the border.

However, one case has been removed due to a data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 70 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 34,122.

A total of 49 warnings and 38 tickets were issued for the week of March 22 to 28, including 22 $1,296 tickets to individuals for various offences, 13 $298 tickets to individuals for failure to wear a mask in indoor public places, two $5,000 fines to businesses and one $5,150 fine under the federal quarantine act.

The Manitoba government is providing $205.3 million to regional health authorities for personal care homes (PCHs) and community health agencies (CHAs), service delivery organizations (SDOs) and specialized equipment purchases to offset funds spent to deal with COVID-19.

The province has announced that as of March 27, more than 10 per cent of Manitobans aged 18 and older have received the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the largest immunization campaign in the province’s history.
