The Manitoba government is helping vulnerable citizens by providing $6.3 million to community agencies as part of the province’s first whole-of-government strategy to end homelessness.

The province has announced that nearly $970,000 will be invested into recreational trail projects throughout Manitoba to help enhance affordable outdoor recreational opportunities for Manitobans.

The Manitoba government is providing nearly $215,000 in operating grants to 38 rural and northern communities to support festivals that promote their heritage, culture and identity.

The Manitoba government has awarded $627,070 in Heritage Resources Conservation Grant funding to support 51 projects that will preserve and enhance heritage sites across Manitoba.

The province has announced that joint funding between the federal and provincial government will be used for inpatient monitor upgrades and new monitors to support care and remote monitoring capabilities at Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Children’s Hospital.

Steinbach MLA and Justice Minister Kelvin Goertzen, announced that the Manitoba government is providing more than $200,000 in funding, including new ongoing support of $100,000, to the Bear Clan patrols serving Winnipeg neighbourhoods.

The Manitoba government is investing an additional $1.8 million in new projects under the Teachers’ Idea Fund. Included in the recipients is Woodlawn School in Steinbach.

The Manitoba government has launched the second intake of the Municipal Service Delivery Improvement Program, which provides funding for municipalities and planning districts to find ways to improve services and find efficiencies.

The Manitoba government has invested more than $15 million from the Building Sustainable Communities (BSC) and the Urban and Hometown Green Team (GT) programs to support approximately 500 projects in bilingual municipalities throughout Manitoba.

The Manitoba government is helping protect the province’s natural resources by awarding over $1 million in funding for 35 fish and wildlife improvement projects from the Fish and Wildlife Enhancement Fund (FWEF).
