Manitoba’s gas remained the cheapest in Canada while work was completed to restore the Imperial Oil Pipeline, which is now operating at full capacity.
Provincial inspectors were recently on-site when Imperial Oil safely restored service to one of the two fuel lines at the pipeline repair site south of St. Adolphe. This repair restores a partial flow of fuel through the pipeline and will significantly reduce the volume of fuel that has to be alternatively delivered by rail and truck.
Provincial inspectors were onsite as drilling recently began at the Imperial Oil pipeline repair site. Inspectors will be regularly monitoring the drilling operation to ensure all regulations and environmental protection measures are followed.
The Manitoba government is closely monitoring fuel supply levels, distribution and pricing as the repair of the Imperial Oil pipeline continues. Currently, the fuel supply is considered stable.
