The Slingshot Racing Cup has reached the midpoint of the 2018 race season and action is set to heat up this Wednesday, July 18th at Gimli Motorsport Park.

Former Winnipeg Blue Bomber, Obby Khan, rode with local racer David Richert this week for a couple rounds of the Slingshot Racing Cup at Gimli Motorsport Park.

The MJHL opens its 60-game regular season on Friday, September 21 with eight of 11 teams in action, including defending MJHL champions Steinbach Pistons taking on the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Providence Pilots men’s basketball team head coach Tim Friesen has decided to step away from coaching at the collegiate level. Friesen was responsible for turning the program around over two seasons with the Pilots.

Going undefeated in three games last week has earned Steinbach Pistons’ goaltender Matthew Thiessen the Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week.

A new video scoreboard was installed this past week at the T.G. Smith Centre in Steinbach. The project was part of a joint effort by the City of Steinbach and Steinbach Pistons.

For the second time this season, Steinbach Pistons’ captain Braden Purtill has been named the Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week award.

Undefeated in three starts last week, goaltender Matthew Thiessen of the Steinbach Pistons has been named the Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week.
