The City of Steinbach has announced the groundbreaking of the new Southeast Event Centre. The overall project will be a catalyst for redeveloping Steinbach’s downtown into a destination site for the community.

Steinbach RCMP are currently investigating a recent string of break, enter and theft incidents that occurred at a number of local churches in Steinbach and the surrounding area.

Steinbach RCMP are asking the public for any information that may help in a current vandalism investigation. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between the evening of January 19 and afternoon of January 20.

Steinbach RCMP are currently investigating the theft of a horseshoe anvil, that was recently stolen from a residence located in the 200 block of Gauthier Street in La Broquerie, Manitoba.

The Manitoba government is inviting Manitobans to join telephone town hall engagement sessions and attend in-person public meetings to help inform Budget 2023. The Steinbach meeting is scheduled for January 31 at 6pm in the Days Inn hotel.

A 69-year-old Ste. Anne man was recently sent to hospital after suffering serious injuries resulting from an assault by two suspects at his home.

Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 24-year-old man from the community was recently arrested and charged in connection to the attempted abduction of a 16-year-old female youth that occurred in June of 2019.
