Manitobans have checked in over 1,000 times using the Manitoba Perogy Trail. The milestone was marked at a celebratory event with the trail’s sponsor, Perogy Planet, donating $5,000 to Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre in Winnipeg, which will help support the centre’s efforts to preserve and share Ukrainian heritage in Manitoba.

Manitoba welcomed 10.4 million visitors in 2023 who spent a record $1.82 billion throughout the province, Travel Manitoba reported at its recent Annual General Meeting. Visitation exceeded 10 million for the first time since 2019, a positive sign the industry is moving beyond recovery to growth.

Travel Manitoba does not have adequate systems and practices in place to help achieve its tourism goals and objectives, says Auditor General Norm Ricard. These findings are contained in a new report, Management of Provincial Tourism, recently released.
