To date, 35,338 doses of vaccine have been administered including 29,404 first doses and 5,934 second doses. As of Jan. 28, Manitoba is second in the country in the number of people who have received two doses of vaccine and are fully protected against COVID-19, at 430 people per 100,000.

On January 28, 2020, Manitoba received confirmation from the federal government that 12,870 fewer doses (11 trays) of the Pfizer vaccine will be shipped to the province by the end of March. This means Manitoba will receive 161,460 doses, instead of 174,330.

The province has released a four-stage immunization plan that builds on medical expertise and Manitoba’s current approach to the vaccine campaign, with the goal of protecting Manitobans at greatest risk of COVID-19 the soonest, Health and Seniors Care Minister Heather Stefanson announced.

To date, 33,361 doses of vaccine have been administered including 28,274 first doses and 5,087 second doses. Eligible Manitobans can continue to make immunization appointments next week at the super site in Thompson.

A total of 29,751 doses of vaccine have been administered in Manitoba including 26,349 first doses and 3,402 second doses. Beginning this week, every dose of vaccine administered will be a second dose, meaning more Manitobans will have fuller protection against COVID-19. 

This morning, the federal government advised Manitoba to expect a third supply reduction of the Pfizer vaccine. In the week of Feb. 1, Manitoba will receive two trays of vaccine (2,340 doses) instead of five (5,850 doses). Projections for the week of Feb. 8 are no longer being provided.

A new online dashboard is being launched today at manitoba.ca to provide timely information to Manitobans about the immunization campaign. It is updated daily and includes doses received and administered, percentage of Manitobans aged 18 or older who are fully vaccinated, a projection on the number of immunizations planned over the next 28 days and immunization statistics based on age, sex and region of residence.

For the second time in days, Manitoba has been told to expect another reduction in the amount of Pfizer vaccine coming to our province from the federal government and the manufacturer.

Manitoba’s Focused Immunization Teams (FITs) continue to immunize residents at personal care homes (PCHs) across the province. First doses of the vaccine will now be given to all eligible PCH residents by the end of January, more than a week ahead of initial projections.

Health and Seniors Care Minister Heather Stefanson announced that no vaccine appointments have been cancelled in Manitoba following news that upcoming Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine delivery schedules will be delayed across the country.
