The Manitoba government has announced that it is introducing legislation that would regulate the retail sale of long-bladed weapons, including machetes, knives and swords.

Members of the Powerview RCMP are reporting that a pellet gun was seized from 26-year-old man after he was arrested in connection to a weapons offence investigation.

Over the course of three days, Manitoba RCMP officers in Nisichawayasihk, Portage la Prairie and Swan River were kept busy executing search warrants at a number of residences.

In a joint effort with the General Investigations Section, Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services, Steinbach RCMP arrested two individuals while seizing a quantity of drugs and weapons from a local residence.
