With cold weather conditions expected in parts of the province as early as Sunday, Nov. 21, Manitoba Health and Seniors Care is reminding individuals about health concerns related to colder temperatures. Exposure to cold can result in health problems such as frostbite or hypothermia, which can be life-threatening.

As the first winter storm of the season is expected and occurring across many parts of the province, Manitoba RCMP are reminding drivers to use extreme caution and follow some basic winter driving tips to stay safe.

With reports of a winter storm approaching in coming days and potential heavy snow across areas of the province, motorists are reminded to adjust driving habits for winter road conditions and to remain alert when following or approaching oncoming highway snowplows.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting above normal temperatures in Manitoba starting today and persisting into early next week. This system will bring hot conditions to southern Manitoba, with some areas experiencing extreme heat for several days.
