RCMP have arrested and charged four people with drug offences after drugs were seized during a traffic stop this past February.

On February 17. 2011, Thompson RCMP conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle observed rolling through a stop sign. Further investigation revealed the presence of drugs inside the vehicle, which was subsequently searched by police. The search revealed a large amount of ecstasy pills and a smaller quantity of crack cocaine. Total value of the drugs seized is approximately $2000.

Police report that they have arrested and charged four individuals in connection with this incident.

20-year-old Paige Kruger-Trottier of Thompson has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of failingĀ  to comply with a recognizance. Kruger-Trottier was remanded into custody.

25-year-old Thomas Starshuk of Thompson has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was released with a court appearance of April 8, 2011.

A 16-year-old male youth has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of marijuana. He was release with a court date of April 8, 2011.

A 17-year-old male youth has also been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He is also scheduled to appear in Thompson provincial court onĀ  April 8, 2011.

Neither youth can be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
