On March 2, 2011, at about 7:30pm, Selkirk RCMP as well as EMS were dispatched to the scene of an injured pedestrian who was struck by a snowmobile in the RM of St. Clements.
The accident occurred on Donald Road at the intersection of River Road.
Initial investigation indicates that a 1999 Yamaha snowmobile was being operated by a 53-year-old man from the RM of St. Clements, when it struck a pedestrian, a 52-year-old man from the RM of St. Andrews.
The injured pedestrian was transported by ambulance to hospital with serious injuries. Alcohol is not considered a factor in the investigation at this time.
There were no other persons or vehicles reported to be involved in this collision.
Police continue to investigate.
