Laurent Tétrault officially announced his candidacy for the provincial Progressive Conservative nomination in Dawson Trail at the launch of his campaign on March 8, 2011. The announcement was presented at 7:30pm, Tuesday evening at the Jubinville Centre, 1298 Dawson Road, in Lorette, Manitoba.
“The residents of Dawson Trail want change,” explains Laurent Tétrault. “After 12 long years at the helm of our province, the government has become tired and is lacking in new ideas. Manitoba’s economy is lagging behind, we have returned to deficit financing, and our rural communities have been abandoned. It is time to inject new energy in our province.”
Laurent Tétrault and Hugh McFadyen’s provincial Progressive Conservatives have a vision of a more prosperous province, a healthier province, and a safer province. It is a vision that will move the province forward. The residents of Dawson Trail and rural Manitoba need a strong voice in the Provincial Legislature. Laurent Tétrault is committed to improving provincial roads, addressing the infrastructure deficit, reducing school property taxes, modernizing health facilities, supporting recreation facilities for people of all ages, and growing the economy of Dawson Trail.
“It is unacceptable that the government is wasting billions of dollars on Manitoba Hydro’s west side Bipole III project,” says Laurent Tétrault. “What Manitobans and the residents of Dawson Trail really want is better roads and infrastructure, better recreation facilities and stronger communities.”
Laurent Tétrault presents the residents of Dawson Trail with a fresh outlook and renewed energy. No stranger to politics, Laurent has well over 35 years of experience in municipal affairs and rural economic development. He has served as Chief Administrative Officer in some of the most dynamic municipalities in Manitoba, including Springfield which is the largest and one of the fastest growing municipalities in the province. Laurent and his wife, Yvette, are the proud parents of a combined 8 children and 4 grandchildren.
