On March 11, 2011, RCMP Department, arrested and charged a suspect in relation to a home invasion that occurred on October 9, 2010, in Steinbach.
Steinbach RCMP were assisted by the RCMP Major Crime Unit and the Ste. Anne Police.
In this incident a 21-year-old female resident of the home was confronted by an intruder in her garage. The intruder was armed with a knife. The victim was able to fight off the intruder who then fled on foot.
After a lengthy investigation, 30-year-old Ronald Dyck of Steinbach, was arrested in Winnipeg. Dyck has since been charged with break, enter and committing an assault with a weapon. Dyck has also been charged with break, enter and theft for an incident that occurred at the same residence on June 23, 2010.
Dyck is still in police custody and will be remanded into custody.
