Manitoba Farmers will be at The Forks Market in Winnipeg this weekend to participate in Agriculture in the City, a three-day event that offers a chance to explore the vibrant and innovative world of agriculture.

Keystone Agricultural Producers (KAP) hosts the event Talk to a Farmer on the main stage on Sunday, March 20 at 11:30 a.m. This is an opportunity for consumers and farmers to connect and hear more about issues like marketing opportunities and challenges in agriculture, honey production, seeding cycles and the role the Canadian family farm plays in food production.

Farmers will take part in a panel and answer questions. Guests include Doug Chorney, East Selkirk Grain Farmer and Keystone Agricultural Producers President; Curtis McRae, Selkirk Grain Farmer; Jim Campbell, Stonewall Bee Keeper; and Gwen Donohoe, Young Farmer.

Visit The Forks Market on Friday, March 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. to discover Agriculture in the City. Over 20 interactive exhibits will be set up and activities, games and presentations will be featured on the main stage.

This event is sponsored and organized by a committee of stakeholders from the Manitoba agriculture industry including: Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in partnership with Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives, Agriculture in the Classroom Manitoba, Keystone Agricultural Producers, the University of Manitoba, Manitoba Egg Farmers, Manitoba Pork Council and the Manitoba Canola Growers Association.
