RCMP have charged 3 Portage la Prairie men after finding drugs and cash during a vehicle stop last week.
On March 19, 2011, at about 7pm, RCMP members on patrol in the City of Portage la Prairie conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation. A 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue was observed by police failing to stop at a stop sign.
Further investigation revealed that the driver and two occupants of the vehicle were in possession of approximately $8,000 worth of drugs including cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and over $1,000 in cash.
29-year-old Perry Nicholas Mousseau, 37-year-old Wayne Jeffrey Garnham and 20-year-old Tyson Shane Daniels, all of Portage la Prairie, have been charged with a number of offences, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
All three men have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on May 2, 2011.
Police continue to investigate.
