A Stony Mountain man has died after a work-site accident at Wuskwatim Dam near Thompson, Manitoba.

On April 20, 2011, at approximately 6pm, Thompson RCMP were notified of a workplace accident at the Wuskwatim Dam work-site, approximately 40 kms north of Thompson.

65-year-old Allan Michael Leschyshyn of Stony Mountain, MB, sustained critical injuries after being struck in the head by a metal crossbar while assisting other workers in dismantling a large quonset structure.

RCMP report that on-site emergency medical responders attempted to revive him but he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigation is continuing in coordination with investigators from Manitoba Labour and Immigration.
