Two members of the Canadian Military are dead following a vehicle rollover east of Brandon on Provincial Road 457.

On May 1, 2011 at approximately 12:30am, Brandon RCMP were called to a single vehicle rollover on Provincial Road 457, approximately 4 miles east of Brandon, Manitoba.

Police investigation has revealed that a 2003 Ford Escape with 4 males in it was traveling west on Provincial Road 457, crossing the bridge that goes over Willow Creek. While crossing the bride, the SUV lost control, hit the guard rail, went over the bridge and landed on its roof ending up partially submerged in the creek.

RCMP report that one of the rear passengers was able to get out of the vehicle and make his way up onto the road where he obtained help from other motorists.

Weather conditions at the time of the collision were poor as the area had received heavy snow during the course of the late afternoon and evening. Road Conditions had slippery sections with some snow packed sections.

The 26-year-old male driver and 24-year-old male front passenger died at the scene. A 27-year-old male is in serious condition with life threatening injuries and a 24-year old male who sustained non-life threatening injuries, were passengers in the rear seats of the SUV, both are being treated at the Brandon Regional Health Center.

All 4 people in the vehicle are members of the Canadian Military and are presently stationed at CFB Shilo. Names of the deceased are not being released pending the notification of next of kin.

Police investigation is continuing into this matter.
