Steinbach Fire Department had extinguished four school buses that had been set on fire at Fairway Bus Sales.
On May 5, 2011, at about 6:37pm, Steinbach RCMP were called to Fairway Bus Sales, located at 44 Brandt Street, where the Steinbach Fire Department was already trying to extinguish four school buses that had been set on fire.
Investigation revealed that the fire was as a result of one school bus being set on fire which spread to three others. The school buses were no longer in service and were mainly being stored for parts. There is no cost of estimate of damage at this time.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner attended and determined that the fire had been deliberately set.
Steinbach RCMP and the Office of the Fire Commissioner are still investigating the incident.
