RCMP Traffic Services members were on the scene of a serious two vehicle collision that occurred about 10am yesterday morning approximately 1 km north of McGillivary Blvd on the West Perimeter Highway.
The northbound lanes had been closed and traffic was re-routed. Motorists were advised to find an alternate route or expect delays.
Initial reports indicate a pick-up truck was in collision with the rear of a flat bed semi-trailer. Both vehicles were traveling northbound.
The driver of the pick-up, a 31-year-old man from St. Clements, was transported to hospital in critical condition by Air Ambulance. The passenger from the pick-up truck, a 21-year-old man from Winnipeg, was transported to hospital by ambulance with undetermined injuries.
The driver of the semi-trailer, a 75-year-old man from Selkirk, was reported to have received minor injuries in the collision. There were no other persons or vehicles reported to be involved in this collision.
The investigation continues.
