A 3-year-old boy is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Peguis FN earlier this week.

On May 18, 2011, just after 8:30pm, Peguis FN RCMP as well as local EMS were dispatched to the scene of a fatal hit and run collision in the community of Peguis FN.

Initial investigation indicates that a 3-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle at a residence in the community. The vehicle did not remain at the scene.

The child was transported to hospital by ambulance and was pronounced deceased.

The name of the deceased will not be released.

Police continue to investigate.
