On June 2, 2011, at 7:45am, Steinbach RCMP were dispatched to a collision between two vehicles at the junction of Highway 311 and Road 35E in the RM of Hanover.
A vehicle traveling southbound on Road 35E was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 311.
The passenger of the southbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult female driver of the southbound vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The adult female driver of the eastbound vehicle was also taken to hospital and her condition is listed as guarded. All persons involved are from the Steinbach area.
The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
RCMP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist. Alcohol is not considered a contributing factor.
