On June 6, 2011, at around 9pm, Lac du Bonnet RCMP as well as local Emergency Services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal ATV collision in the RM of Alexander, Manitoba.
Initial investigation indicates that 2 adult women were operating a 2004 Polaris Sportsman ATV when it left the roadway where they they were ejected from the vehicle.
A 24-year-old woman from Winnipeg was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 30-year-old woman from the RM of Alexander was transported to hospital with serious, undetermined injuries.
An RCMP traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation. It has been confirmed that neither of the riders were wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The name of the deceased will not be released.
The cause of the collision has not yet been determined and police continue to investigate.
