At approximately 6am on June 25, 2011, while investigating a report of a disturbance, Portage la Prairie RCMP seized a quantity of cocaine.
Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 600 block of Spruce Bay in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Upon arrival police located one intoxicated male outside the residence.
Subsequent investigation revealed the male was in possession of 24 grams of cocaine, which has a value of approximately $2000, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.
29-year-old Lawrence Catcheway of Portage la Prairie, was arrested for breaching conditions of an undertaking and was also charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime and resisting arrest. Catcheway is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on July 4, 2011.
