Dauphin’s 2011 Countryfest weekend has resulted in numerous alcohol and driving related charges being laid over the last few days.
From Thursday June 30 until Monday, July 4, 2011, officers responded to approximately 30 calls for service at the Countryfest site with the majority of those calls being disturbances involving intoxicated people.
Traffic enforcement in the Dauphin area during this time resulted in five people being charged with impaired driving, one person with dangerous driving and more than 20 other people being charged with offences under the Liquor Control Act or Highway Traffic Act.
Officers arrested three other people on outstanding arrest warrants and lodged approximately 40 other people for being intoxicated.
