Two women from the Crane River FN are facing drug related charges after police seized a quantity of cocaine during vehicle stop last week.
On July 1, 2011 at about 1:30 am, a joint investigation between the Ste. Rose RCMP and Wabowden RCMP lead to a vehicle stop on Highway 6, near Wabowden.
Wabowden RCMP seized approximately 5 ounces of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $30,000. RCMP believe the cocaine was destined for the community of Wabowden.
48-year-old Mary Campbell of Wabowden and 57-year-old Eileen McDonald from the Crane River FN have been charged for trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Both have been released on a recognizance with conditions to attend Thompson Court on August 12, 2011.
