On July 6, 2011, at about 7:30pm, St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a fatal two vehicle collision in the RM of Tache, Manitoba.
Initial investigation indicates that a 1988 Chevrolet Corsica was westbound on Highway 207 on the portion known as “Old Dawson Road”, when it was in collision with an eastbound 2008 GMC Sierra pick-up truck.
The driver and lone occupant of the Corsica, a 25-year-old man from Winnipeg, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 41-year-old driver of the pick-up truck and an 11-year-old passenger, both from the RM of Tache, were transported to hospital with undetermined non life threatening injuries.
There were no other vehicles or persons involved in the collision.
An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation. Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the collision at this time.
Police continue to investigate.
