On July 16, 2011, shortly after 12:30am, Sprague RCMP with the assistance of Steinbach RCMP, Steinbach Traffic Services and local Emergency Services responded to a single motor vehicle rollover collision on Highway 12 just south of the Highway 89 intersection.
Investigation has revealed that a 1999 Ford Ranger Pick-up truck had been traveling on Highway 12 and had left the roadway and rolled over at least once.
Police attended and located the driver and lone occupant deceased at the scene. The deceased has been identified as a 33-year-old male from Winnipeg. The name of the deceased will not be released.
There were no other persons or vehicles reported to be involved in this collision.
RCMP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst. Speed is considered to be a contributing factor to the collision.
