A member of the Canadian Military has died after his motorcycle collided with a bulldozer in Boissevain, Manitoba.
On July 25, 2011, shortly before 10pm, RCMP Boissevain members and EMS were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Mountain Street in the Community of Boissevain where a motorcycle had struck a bulldozer.
RCMP arrived at the scene and reported that the male rider had already been transported to the Boissevain Health Centre where he succumbed to his injuries a short while later. The bulldozer was parked in a construction company yard near the road. The rider, who was travelling west on Mountain Street, was ejected on impact.
The motorcycle rider was identified as a 31-year-old member of Canadian Military presently stationed at CFB Shilo in Manitoba.
Speed is considered a contributing factor to this collision. The rider was not wearing a helmet.
RCMP Boissevain Detachment assisted by an RCMP Traffic Analyst continues to investigate.
