On July 30, 2011, at about 8 am, RCMP “D” Division were called in to assist the Dakota Ojibway Police Service into the death of a female, located on Sandy Bay FN.
The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Roberta Dawn McIvor of Sandy Bay FN.
Assisting with the investigation are the RCMP Major Crime Services along with the RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
RCMP report that McIvor’s death is being treated as a homicide and a post mortem will be taking place in Winnipeg.
The investigation continues.
