At approximately 11am on August 6, 2011, Steinbach RCMP responded to a complaint of break, enter and theft to an electrical business located on Industrial Road in Steinbach, Manitoba.
RCMP learned upon arrival that the culprit(s) had gained entry through the back door of the business. The business is believed to have been targeted by the culprit(s) because they were seeking copper wire. Several rolls of copper wire were reported stolen from inside the premises, however upon searching the surrounding area for evidence, RCMP discovered that a number of rolls of wire had been stashed in some tall grass presumably to be picked up at a later time by the culprit(s). It appears that the culprit(s) still got away with a number of rolls of copper wire as well as a small amount of liquor.
RCMP report that there is no estimate of loss at this time.
Police continue to investigate with the assistance of the RCMP Winnipeg Forensic Identification Services.
