On August 13, 2011, at about 2:30pm, Selkirk RCMP as well as local emergency services were dispatched to a report of a body in the Red River near Lockport, Manitoba.
At approximately 3pm, the body was recovered by emergency personnel north of the Lockport dam. At this time it appears to be that of a female. The age and identity have not yet been established.
An autopsy is scheduled and the cause of death has yet to be determined.
Police continue to investigate.
