House damaged in fire in the RM of Alexander.
On August 29, 2011, at about 6:15pm, Powerview RCMP Detachment, local area EMS and Fire Department were dispatched to a house fire on Louis Riel Drive in the RM of Alexander.
Black smoke had been noted coming out of the house. RCMP report that a 56-year-old resident of the home was pulled out of the home to safety by two civilians that were passing by. The resident was taken to the local hospital and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police say that the lone resident in the house is reported to have fallen asleep while cooking.
The fire is considered accidental in nature. Damage estimates are not available, however, damages are considered extensive.
RCMP continue to investigate.
