On August 30, 2011, an autopsy was conducted in Winnipeg on human remains that were found near Poplarfield during a search for Nancy Swenty who was first reported missing on July 28, 2011.
Police say that the remains have been positively identified as 33-year-old Nancy Swenty of Fisher Branch.
The cause of death is not being released, however, her death is being treated as a homicide.
The family of Nancy Swenty has asked the RCMP to relay the following: “We would like to thank to all of the searchers who spent countless hours to bring Nancy home”.
