On September 3, 2011, at 9am, Norway House RCMP members and local EMS were dispatched to a collision between a car and a pedestrian in the north end of Norway House FN.

RCMP members arrived on scene and learned that the victim, a 22-year-old man from Norway House, had been hit by a vehicle backing out of a driveway and had now lost consciousness. The victim was transported to Norway House Hospital by EMS where he succumbed to his injuries a short while later.

RCMP have now charged 20-year-old Lyle Munroe of Norway House with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, impaired operation over .08 causing death and four counts of breach of undertaking.

Lyle Munroe has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Thompson Court on September 8, 2011.

The investigation continues.
