RCMP have arrested a Norway House youth after being accused of uttering threats yesterday at a local school in Norway House Cree Nation, Manitoba.
On September 14, 2011, at about 2pm, Norway House RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of utter threats at the Helen Betty Osborne Ininiw Education Resource Centre (Helen Betty Osborne School) in Norway House Cree Nation, Manitoba.
Investigation indicates there was a physical confrontation between two 17-year-old males at the school. One of the males threatened to get a gun and left the school.
The school immediately initiated their lock down procedure and notified police. The accused was located a short time later at a nearby residence and arrested.
A 17-year-old male from Norway House has been charged with Utter Threats. He has since been released from police custody, and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Norway House on November 15th.
No firearms were located and there were no injuries reported.
Police continue to investigate.
