The Honourable Minister of Public Safety, Vic Toews, on behalf of the Immigration Task Force, announced the arrest of another one of Canada Border Services Agency’s “Most Wanted”.

Shameer Allie, age 36, a Guyanese national, was arrested on the morning of September 15 in the Toronto area. The arrest occurred without incident. Allie has a number of criminal convictions in Canada including violence and weapons related offences. Allie was wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for removal from Canada. Allie is under CBSA custody. The CBSA has initiated removal proceedings.

The information that led to this arrest originated from a tip to the CBSA Most Wanted website.

The Immigration Task Force is a joint forces unit which includes members from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canada Border Services Agency and Provincial ROPE squad. This team works closely with other police departments and partner agencies to apprehend high-risk migrant fugitives through teamwork and the effective use of intelligence.
