For the past four months, Steinbach’s Solid Waste Department has been delivering two compost depots every Saturday to the Steinbach Junior High School and Woodlawn School. The public has been encouraged to take advantage of the shorter distance to bring grass clippings and other yard waste to the depot for composting.
The public is reminded to bring their bags of leaves and garden waste to the compost depots during the next two Saturdays, October 1st and 8th, between 9:00am and 4:00pm. October 8th will be the last day this year that the compost depots will be available in city limits.
The public is reminded that the Steinbach Landfill accepts compostable materials year-round at no charge.
